Victor was raised on a ranch south of Sterling City, Texas, where his family specialized in wool sheep and Beefmaster cattle. His father, Charles Probandt, was a former president of the Beefmaster Association and played a key role in the breed’s development over the years.
After attending Angelo State University, Victor pursued his passion for ranching before transitioning into real estate and becoming a specialist in land appraisal. With over 40 years of experience as a partner at Stribling Probandt Appraisals, he has assessed properties across Texas, from Brady to Sierra Blanca and Del Rio to the northern Panhandle. His expertise in raw land valuation, combined with his reputation as a leading range fire appraiser, makes him a trusted resource for attorneys and landowners statewide.
Victor and his wife, Trish, have been married for over 40 years and live on their ranch northeast of San Angelo. They have three children—Trevor, Eric, and Caitlin—all of whom are professionally involved in ranching or real estate. Their four grandchildren keep them busy traveling to events across West Texas.
Beyond his work in appraisals, Victor is a licensed real estate broker, helping ranchers, hunters, and investors find their ideal Texas property. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys fly fishing for trout in the mountains of Colorado and Wyoming, especially in high-country lakes where eager trout rise to a well-placed fly.
